Adam Matej aka DJ GÄP je sound artist, DJ, producent, tvůrce filmových soundtracků, spoluvlastník labelu, insta-magazínu a klubové noci Mäss. Jeho skladby vyšly na mnoha zahraničních labelech. Získal si pozornost britského rádia NTS, či Los Angeleského Dublab-u, kde připravil mix pro Chico Sonido. Skladba “Bird Attack” z nového EP Burning Brakes pro Mäss byla použita v novém Mugler SS22 filmu, o jehož hudební režii se postaral legendární Total Freedom (dnes už Big Gay Idiot DJ). V části své tvorby sa zároveň záměrně pohybuje na hranici autorství a pirátství a je součástí virtuální soundcloudové bootleg scény. Jeho tvorba je oslavou rozmanitosti a bouráním hranic mezi rádiovým popem a experimentální hudbou.
Ve své umělecké tvorbě se věnuje především interaktivním zvukovým experimentům, v minulých letech připravil zvukové performance mj. v rámci Expozice nové hudby v Brně nebo v newyorském kulturním centru Pioneer Works. Dlouhodobě spolupracuje s kulturní organizací PAF.
Ve stejném čase probíhá v Galerii XY i vernisáž výstavy Kateřiny Barabášové: Jak se z lesa ozývá.

DJ GÄP is an Eastern European producer and DJ from Bratislava, and his music flows in high contrasts somewhere between reggaeton, industrial, 90s R’N’B and club deconstructions. His work has been released on labels such as Ashida Park, JEROME, SIRENS and Mäss. His pirated bootlegs and edit tapes – Screw Ups & Mistakes, have received numerous positive responses from the Soundcloud scene as well as NTS Radio and Chico Sonido’s Show on Dublab. ‘Bird Attack’, from his latest release ‘Burning Brakes’, has been featured in the recent Mugler SS22 Film, musically directed by Big Gay Idiot dj (fka Total Freedom). DJ GÄP’s music could be described as a celebration of diversity and a demolition of the fictitious boundaries between pop and experimental music.
In his art work he mainly focuses on interactive sound experiments. In recent years he has prepared sound performances, for example as part of the New Music Exhibition in Brno and at the Pioneer Works cultural centre in New York. His cooperation with the cultural organisation PAF goes back many years.
