Opilý les
V geologii termín „opilý les“ označuje porost, který vyrůstá na pomalu se sesouvajícím svahu. Kmeny stromů rostou všelijak nakřivo, les působí neuspořádaně a to geologům signalizuje, že se podloží hýbe. V názvu výstavy, na níž se setkají studující z ateliérů katedry fotografie FAMU v Praze, je opilý les odkazem k nestabilitě podmínek, v nichž tito mladí lidé vyrůstají, a k umělecké tvorbě coby opakovaným pokusům o udržení rovnováhy. Prostřednictvím jejich prací však výstava poukazuje i na to, jak na tyto pohyby reaguje nástroj, jež paušálně nazýváme fotografií, a také „její katedra“. K výběru vystavujících byl vyzván kurátor Jiří Ptáček.
Drunken forest
In geology, the term drunken forest refers to vegetation growth growing on a slowly slumping hillside. The tree trunks grow in all sorts of crooked ways and the forest looks disorganized. For geologists, this signals that the bedrock is moving. In the exhibition's title, where students from the studios of the FAMU Department of Photography in Prague will meet, the drunken forest refers to the instability of the conditions in which these young people grow up and to artistic creation as repeated attempts to maintain balance. Through their works, however, the exhibition also points out how the tool we generically call photography and its department; reacts to these movements. Curator Jiří Ptáček was invited to select the exhibitors.
