We cordially invite you to the opening of the solo exhibition „Pixla“ by the duo Anna-Marie Berdychová and Samuel Stano ??✨, which will take place at Jedna Dva Tři Gallery on Monday, April 24.
Their works are characterized by references to traditional symbols of power relations and the politics of public space, reinterpreted and adapted into a new language. It reflects an interest in the theme of game as a simulation of social situations and encourages thinking about their boundaries. They met while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and have been collaborating since 2021. Exploring the variability of materials and experimenting with their properties, Samuel and Anna-Marie work at the intersection of painting, sculpture and installation. The presence of a folklore aesthetic in their work also points to identity, community and the preservation of cultural values in ever-changing times. Their meticulously executed and material-rich DIY works seek to open a dialogue between the past and the present, emphasizing continuity and transformation.
