Panny prorostlé růžemi

Jan Sláma

výstava

(Galerie FaVU, Letna 17, Praha)

Eva Jaroňová and Jan Sláma work with different topics and visual languages, yet their work naturally converges on similar motifs – dialogues and interweaving between the world of humans, animals, plants, and the universe. The boundaries of individuals blur and bodies gradually disintegrate, only to reconnect with the surrounding world. Transformation, decay, and rebirth become central principles, often presented with playfulness, exaggeration, and black humor.

Both artists attempt to capture the intuitiveness, which is characteristic of their work, through logical thinking, while effortlessly combining diverse artistic media and content themes. The subtle underlying theme of their first joint exhibition is the shared sign of the Virgo zodiac – Eva and Jan were born on the same day and year – which poetically intertwines into the title. Their sense of detail and structure, associated with this astral profile, is expressed rather discreetly, in small gestures and hidden order, which also allows for spontaneity and originality. The exhibition „Virgins Overgrown with Roses“ thus grows from a unique constellation of shared sensitivity, humor, and unexpected creative growth. Curated by Vernika Čechová.
