Ciao Biciclette! je minioperní drama ve filmu. Přesněji ve filmu s voděnou loutkou v kombinaci s malovaným pozadím a zadní projekcí. Nahlížíme naživo do těchto scén, do garáže hlavní postavy Josefa, kde láskyplně opravuje svá kola, do obývacího pokoje, kde spolu jeho slečnou Marií trénují na rotopedu nebo do nemocnice, kde bohužel Josef nakonec skončí. Na miniaturách plechovek nebo nemocniční stravě či přesné zmenšenině kola Favorit, můžeme obdivovat tvůrcovu řemeslnou zdatnost a smysl pro designový vtip.
Patrik Trska (1996) absolvoval Ateliér Animace a filmové tvorby na pražské Umprum. Ve své práci animátora zkoumá nové postupy ve spojení řemeslného základu s počítačovými pozadími nebo postprodukcí. Vyřezává, maluje, kreslí, vyrývá linoryty, tvoří z hlíny nebo papír masche. Věnuje se také grafickému designu, vždy však v propojení se svou ilustrací. Často jsou to práce pro cyklo akce nebo hudební kapely. Za svoji diplomovou práci Ciao Biciclette! obdržel cenu Rektora UMPRUM 2024.

Film vznikal ve spolupráci se studenty skladby a operního zpěvu pražské Hamu a Pražské konzervatoře. Dokončení filmu bylo podpořeno Nadačním fondem FILMTALENT ZLÍN, UMPRUM a Ministerstvem školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy v koprodukci se společností Maurfilm. A Gesamtkunstwerk of bicycles and puppet film by Patrik Trska. A ride on a Favorit, on a stationary bike, on a hospital bed, among wheels and parts in a repair workshop on the walls of Xao gallery.
Ciao Biciclette! is a mini-operatic drama on film. More precisely, a film featuring a hand-operated puppet combined with painted backgrounds and rear projection. We peer live into these scenes — into the garage of the main character Josef, where he lovingly repairs his bicycles, into the living room where he and his girlfriend Marie train on a stationary bike, and into the hospital where Josef unfortunately ends up. In the miniature tin cans, the hospital food, or the precise scale model of a Favorit bicycle, we can admire the creator’s craft and sense of design wit.
Patrik Trska (b. 1996) graduated from the Studio of Animation and Filmmaking at UMPRUM Prague. In his work as an animator, he explores new approaches combining traditional craftsmanship with digital backgrounds and post-production. He carves, paints, draws, makes linocuts, works with clay and papier-mâché. He also works in graphic design, always in connection with his illustration — often for cycling events or music bands. For his graduation film Ciao Biciclette! he received the UMPRUM Rector’s Award 2024.

The film was made in collaboration with composition and opera singing students from HAMU Prague and the Prague Conservatory. The completion of the film was supported by the FILMTALENT ZLÍN Foundation Fund, UMPRUM, and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, in co-production with Maurfilm. Distribution is handled by Bear With Me Distribution.
