Punctum and Modalmusic.cz invite you for an evening of north indian ragas performed by two musicians who have studied the tradition in depth while also engaging with a wide range of other styles.Music starts shortly after 8pm.Matthew Noone – sarodTomáš Reindl – tabla°°°Matthew Noone is an indie rocker, improviser, composer and scholar whose primary instrument is the North Indian sarode. He has studied Indian classical music with Sougata Roy Chowdhury in Kolkata and K. Sridhar in the UK for over twenty years and works in a diverse range of disciplines ranging from Indian classical and Irish traditional music to contemporary folk, doom, electronica and electroacoustic improvisation.°°°Tomáš Reindl is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and tabla player based in Prague, Czech Republic. His music regularly crosses genreboundaries and often draws inspiration from ancient musical cultures of both the East and the West. He is best-known for his one-man-looping orchestra OMNION, as a tabla player performing with Elena Kubičková as well as other performers of hindustani classical music, and also a composer working with dance.Entrance fee: TBA
