Michal Kindernay’s site-specific installation contributes to the societal discussion on sustainability of life, extinction of animal species, decline of fauna, and climate change. The sound sculpture is a unique type of art object where sound replaces traditional visual elements and becomes the main carrier of meaning. Unlike traditional sculptures, which use tangible materials, this work focuses on an intangible phenomenon, whose variability and presence in space are crucial. The sculpture will address the object itself, but the sound and its resonance in the space and response to external influences will be the most important aspect. The burnt landscape of speakers is not only an object of observation, but an active component of relational ecology – a space for reconnecting the body, consciousness, and the natural element, its death and rebirth. A fire can disrupt the ecological and visual continuity, but can also lead to a reset of the ecosystem and its return to early stages of succession. The parallel between the forest ecology and the inner landscape of humans refers to the concept of ecopsychology, which reflects mental health in relation to environmental integrity.
